Afterimages presents a roll of film that Ryszard Kisiel accidentally exposed twice, so that snaps of places with gay interest taken in Sopot, a Polish seaside resort town in the late 1980s, became superimposed onto a previously taken gay photo shoot. The video and the film roll physically bring together Kisiel’s fascination and concern with queering bodies and queering spaces. The images are accompanied by his voice-over commenting on the depicted places, weaving in anecdotes with historical accounts.
