Since 2013, Pilar Mata Dupont has been making a video archive of testimony by women in her family who lived through the last military dictatorship in Argentina. A Table Read is an iteration of this wider project, taking the loose format of a table read, a pre-production stage of film and theatre in which actors read through the script for the first time, to evoke the cacophony of truths and fragmentary information collected through Mata Dupont’s research.

Three unreliable narrators, changing roles between members of Mata Dupont’s family, attempt to piece together memories of a past mediated through the fragments of an autofictive screenplay. How can a slippery notion of collective and personal memory manifest through this layered, intergenerational storytelling?

This process of reflexive unfolding invites the audience to witness a vulnerable but generative situation revealing improvisation, hesitations, unresolved elements, and hints of future iterations open to a different range of possibilities.

The performance will be in English.
